Remember the story? The shoemaker was busy crafting wonderful shoes for everyone else in the village while his children ran around barefoot? Sadly, this analogy has been all too appropriate for me and my poor blog over the past month…

The good news is that the reason I have been so busy (and not devoting time to updating my blog) is that I have been networking, teaching and consulting like crazy! I added several new clients over the past month, taught 3 classes and launched Northwest Indiana Tweetup (#nwitweetup) last week, which was a big success and got a nice story in The Times.

It’s very encouraging to see the level of enthusiasm for Twitter and other social media here in Northwest Indiana. We had about 30 people show up for the first Tweetup and I expect that number to grow by the time our next get together rolls around March 26th at Coladas Pizza in Valparaiso. I created a blog specifically for Northwest Indiana Tweetup attendees so we could exchange Twitter IDs and comments there. Twitter’s 140 character limit is a challenge sometimes!

On Tuesday, I presented a (very) abbreviated version of my seminar “Social Media for Real Estate” at Coldwell Banker’s Porter County office. The focus was on LinkedIn–such a valuable tool for Realtors and many other professionals!

Today I am headed to Michigan City to present to a business networking group. The topic? “10 Social Media Tools Your Business Can Use Now.”
