Valparaiso Local Food Summit on Friday, April 24 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Valparaiso University Law School.

Across the nation, local foods have emerged as a growing business sector. New jobs are being created in our local food system including producers, distributors, and new markets, such as food hubs and mobile grocery services. Consumers are very interested in buying local food and are driving the demand in grocery stores, restaurants, and farmers markets.

The Valparaiso Local Food Summit intends to place local food and agricultural economic development on the agendas of public policymakers, business leaders, not-for-profit institutions, and citizens. The net result will be greater possibilities of working together, creating jobs, doing business, and expanding the economy here in Northwest Indiana. Please join us to learn how to make a positive impact in our local community.

Details about registering for the Summit can be found in the attached flyer and on their Facebook page. Please share this information with your colleagues, friends, and anyone who is interested in improving our local food system.
