How cool is it that I get to claim Georgeann Quealy of Integrative Flavors in Michigan City as a past student of my social media workshops?
She has been nominated for the Family Owned Business of the Year Award at next week’s Entrepreneurial Excellence (E Day) Awards, hosted by the Indiana Small Business Development Center.
I remember when Georgeann showed up in my class at the Michigan City Entrepreneur Center several years ago. As is my custom, I asked each member of the class to give their name, their company and some background on what they do. Georgeann said, “Integrative Flavors makes organic soup base for chefs and product developers.”
My heart sank. I thought, “What the heck kind of advice can I give her to market to that niche?”
Luckily, Georgeann didn’t need a lot of encouragement. I showed her the basics and she took it way beyond that. I especially admire what a great job they have done with their YouTube channel (which we really didn’t cover during our workshop).
I am proud of a local business that incorporate many energy efficient and green initiatives and also makes one heck of a great product. I used the last of my chicken soup base tonight and will be stocking up soon again. I purchased it at Nature’s Cupboard in Chesterton last time; it’s also available for purchase online.
